With 32GB MicroSD cards at only £50 this is even a possible solution for a small office LAN, offering the added bonus of Solid State storage. The Admin interface is comprehensive and heavily configurable. I’m sure for £37 it’s a bargain. 24 month warranty included. I’m stoked!

Bonus, the NAS option sounds like the clincher, shared central data too, yes, things really seem to have moved on. We all have more than one device these days and this sounds like real liberation for the wired family of today.

Every packet you transfer counts towards your data allowance but 5gb a month is more than enough for me. There are 15gb and unlimited mobile packages available also.

Useful to know, I’ll be needing my own personal connection soon and if I can’t get cable there’s no way I’ll ever sign up to BT. This looks cool, I *could* get by without any huge downloads if iPlayer streaming didn’t count toward the monthly allowance, I’m not sure how streaming is looked at.

I think perhaps yes and now it’s the turn of what surrounds the music itself, hence the iTunes LP.

There’s nothing in digital format which could ever compare to the physicality of a double picture disk (or coloured vinyl) in a gate fold sleeve, although the iTunes LP is certainly trying.

Irrespective of album art it’s audio clarity in it’s purest form which hits the spot for some, for others a crackly 7″ single completely satisfies, it’s an interesting area. I know someone who only in the past few years has upgraded from cassette tapes to CD’s, he has no desire for an MP3 player. Although admittedly he’s the exception to the norm people like him do exist.

I agree, they’re a nice idea but certainly not suited for all round use like the Macbooks. I love mine as you know but only due to it’s re-purposed left field use as a mobile Ubuntu development server and web cache, for mobile comms (email, basic web etc) I really don’t think you can beat the iPhone or iPod Touch, again – Apple.

Be interesting to see what the Mac tablet brings to us when it surfaces.

I don’t think I could exist without Photoshop, mind you Dreamweaver is becoming a good friend lately and as they already knew each other we’re getting along famously.
