20 Yorkshire Reggae Greats
Ahh… the sweet sound of Reggae. You’ve got to love it.
Yesterday I started traveling through my recording archives in search of the Reggae tinged tracks I’ve composed over the past 10 years. I’ve dug out at least 15 tracks to take through the next stage of production which equates to a solid hour of back to back Reggae music. So that’s going to be my next project and next album release.

La Isla de Yorksha
Our very first Digital Release has finally arrived.
La Isla de Yorksha is a 10 Track Mini-Album (I say Mini as it’s 37 Minutes long, is that Mini?) It’s a pleasant electronic listen with enough surprises to make the listening experience a conscious one. There’s no set program, the tempo’s go from the low eighties at times upto the late 120′s for some of the more upbeat sections.
It’s focus is for the discerning traveller and journeyman. Music should be able to travel well.

Another Reason to be cheerful
Propellerhead Software in Sweden are true innovators. I’ve used their products right from the very start. First Rebirth, then Recycle, then the almighty Reason and now here I am in possession of Record; the latest mind-blowing application from those Swedish coders.

Re-inventing the Wheel
Just when you think everything musical has been covered, every note played, every score composed, every combination of the afore mentioned mixed, mashed, squashed and re-invented; a new angle appears like a layer of freshly fallen snow.
At the time it’s hard to define these monumental occasions, normally appearing too ‘out there’ to be even considered. Each genre of music invariably has a birth date and a creator though, yet whether at that eureka moment the creator actually realises that he or she is changing the course of history I suspect seldom occurs. Prozac Tools
Digidesign, the makers of Pro Tools, arguably the #1 DAW application in the world, have just made a glossy announcement for their latest monster Plugin bundle, aptly named MassivePack 8 and MassivePack Pro 8. I’m not going to go into the detail of these gargantuan bundles, you can check them out yourself HERE
Now the thing that made me fall off my chair was the price. Hang on… let’s just check that price again….Ah yes… , for a mere £780 for the Regular bundle or £2,115 for the Pro bundle, that will result in a saving of £6,700 or £8,500 respectively.
How completely ridiculous does that sound. (more…)
